The only thing you need to have is the same map/campaign addon in order to play together. Both you and your friends can have multiple other addons installed (not campaigns, things like skins, sounds etc..) and it won't affect each other. Are you just trying to load the maps (.bsp) or the VPK? The dedicated server should have a similar folder structure to the game so just copy the addons or VPKs you have to the \Left 4 Dead 2 Dedicated Server\left4dead2\addons. Thank you. Surely if you were able to put in the effort to subscribe, you can do the same to remove them. This was before the "Unsubscribe from All" button was added IIRC. Just go to workshop > your files > subscribed items and click on the button.
