Key Fob not working after replacing a battery. Im new to the Forum having purchased my 2019 F-Pace a few months back now. I changed my battery in the key fobs (both the spare and current) a few days back, following the forum videos and ensuring the change was speedy. I've attempted to unlock the car today and nothing is happening.
Reset the Battery Management System (BMS) by disconnecting (unbolting) the earth/ground lead from where it bolts to the floor of the trunk for around 30 seconds then re-connect. Step 2. Connect a battery tender/maintainer and leave it going overnight, that should recharge the battery fully.

Hi Ray, sounds like the small switches in the fob have failed or failing, common problem. They are called tactile switches. and redilly available on eBay, only problem is they have to be soldered onto the cicuit board in the fob, eBay sell a maintenace kit swithes and battery for your fob. Hi jbnufc. The car will only let you start it if either in "park" or "neutral". Try starting the engine by switching on ignition and selecting "neutral" (foot on brake). If it starts the park switch is faulty. Make sure your in the driving seat with door shut or the gearbox might default back to "park", for safety.
